When I see these old island photos shared by the Key West (Monroe Co. Public Library) on Flickr, they tear the deep roots of memory wide open, for a world, a personal history, a way of life of which only vivid embers remain- to illuminate the choices I make to phoMod the original.
Charcoal Hut, Duval Street 1960-ish Mod Project

Very cool manipulation … I like looking at what you’ve chosen to color; I especially like the sidewalk … and the movie playing next-door: Witness for the Prosecution.

Laura, love that you took the time to decode the marquee! The Charcoal Hut was an iconic all night joint in the ramshackle sea port -of-call KW that existed after the post-WWII navy drawdown. It remains in that spot to this day as far as I know, although the building on the left was demolished decades ago.
