A rainy day hid the Cuillin peaks from us. This iconic site must rank among the most photographed destinations on Skye. A constant flow of visitors, ourselves included, attests to the magnificent landscape and views here, the charming bridge, the impacts of so many feet crossing the adjacent moorlands, and the hiking trails beckoning further travel.
A steady stream of traffic approaching on the A87
As compelling on a cloudy day as any other
All ages routinely walked everywhere in Scotland
Obscured by clouds, the trail still beckons
For a stunning view of this location in truly challenging spring weather, have a look at UK watercolorist James Potter’s plein air video documenting his work and travels along the West Coast. At about 14:01 he and his wife arrive at the Sligachan Bridge to very different conditions than what we encountered on this day during our April sojourn. Cheers!
great photos. And a nice shout out to James Potter!
